Geraldine M. (Smith) Jackson, 95, Brookville, Pa, passed away on July 22, 2016 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital, in Brookville, PA. She was born in Timblin, PA, on December 13, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Isaac G. Smith and Margaret (Horne) Smith. She was married to Glenn M. Jackson on July 11, 1943 in Bonham, Texas. He passed away April 12, 2004 after 61 years of marriage.
She was a 1938 graduate of Brookville High School and was a member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church. She worked 17 years for Bell Telephone and AT&T in Texas, Erie, and Brookville. She worked for Brookville Area High School as a secretary in the A.V. Department and retired in 1986. She was an avid reader and loved to share her love of life, faith, and experiences.
Gerry is survived by two sisters-in-law, Gertrude (Gari) M. Smith and Shirley H. Smith, both of Brookville; three nieces, Kim Love, Connie Smith, Jacquelyn Carrier; and six great nephews and nieces and five great-great nephews and niece.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, in addition to her parents and husband, Gerry was preceded in death by her two brothers, Earl G. Smith, Carl E. Smith, both of Brookville; and a nephew, Jeffrey E. Smith of Placerville, CA. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 28, 2016, from 6-9 p.m. at the McKinney-d’Argy Funeral Home, Ltd., 345 Main St., in Brookville, PA, 15825. The funeral service will be Friday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, and officiated by Rev. Nathan Royster. Interment will be at the Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, PA.
