Obituary for Christopher Robin Siebach

Christopher Robin Siebach
Christopher Robin Siebach, age 63, of Moore Road in Summerville, PA, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, of Multiple System Atrophy, in Brookville, PA. Chris was the firstborn to Ralph and Muriel (Young) Siebach in Gloversville, NY, on September 16, 1954.
Chris left the US Air Force as a Captain when Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire closed. He fondly remembered the thrill of piloting at Mach 1.5 flying at only hundreds of feet above the earth in his favorite aircraft, the FB-111. After attending graduate school at Brigham Young University, in Provo, UT, Chris and his family re-settled in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. He made many friends who were drawn to his work ethic and his sharp sense of humor. Chris could always make you laugh, even, and especially, at inappropriate times.
He was a hard worker who was always looking for opportunities to serve. He made sure his children knew how important this was to him – they “fondly” remember him putting them to work around the house early on Saturday mornings; oftentimes using the vacuum or the mower as a wake-up call.
Chris and his wife Susan settled in Brookville, PA, to grow old with his parents. Disease stole that opportunity, and the caregiver became the cared-for. He was always looking for opportunities to serve others. As his final act of service, Chris donated his brain for medical study.
A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a 2-year mission in Central America in the mid-70s and continued to serve God through his church as a teacher, minister, and leader until his passing.
Chris is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan (Oftedahl) Siebach, his mother Muriel, his four children, Christopher Michael (Shauna) Siebach, Hannah (Garrett) Woodbury, Emma (John) Butler, and Molly (Jon) Knight; brothers: James Siebach, Jeffrey (Kathy) Siebach, Benjamin (Tasha) Siebach; sisters: Linda (Dick) Hartung and Jennifer (Gordon) Haight; and 12 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Ralph, brother Michael, and daughter Audrey.
Those who want to memorialize Chris may donate to the Redbank Valley Trail Association. Chris and his father Ralph spent time working at each other’s side to maintain and improve the section of the trail that ran through their homestead. Please extend a hand of kindness and service to someone around you.
A viewing will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2018, from 10 – 11am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, corner of Route 36 and Maplevale Rd., Brookville, PA, 15825. A funeral service with military honors will begin immediately following that viewing, beginning at 11:00am, and officiated by Bishop Bryan Neal. Final interment will take place at Westview Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, Main St., Brookville, PA.
