Obituary for William "Bill" Hallowell

William "Bill" Hallowell
William Lee “Bill” Hallowell, age 79, of Reynoldsville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Bill was born to the late Renrick and Ruby (Dieble) Hallowell on July 5, 1939 in Reynoldsville, PA. He graduated from Sandy High School and went on to Grove City College. On February 11, 1961 Bill married his wife of fifty-seven years, Honey Ann (Copelli) Hallowell at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville, PA. He continued to keep a strong relationship to the church and to God. He held various offices over the years at the church including; head of trustees, pastor parish relations committee, and being a Sunday school teacher. Bill enjoyed singing in the church choir and he had a voice that would easily stand out. Bill loved to sing and if he wasn’t singing you could find him humming. He enjoyed having motorcycles throughout his life and especially loved to ride his Harley Davidson. Bill loved to read books and was always studying the bible which allowed him to keep a close relationship with God. He would grow a garden and then take his great grandsons to pick tomatoes out of it. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races when they were on. He was a well-liked man who would help anyone who needed it. Bill had a heart of gold which made it easy to love him. He was very involved with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives with everything they did. He loved his church, but above all he loved his family the most. Bill’s family was the most important thing in his life. In addition to his beloved wife Honey Ann (Copelli) Hallowell, Bill is survived by one son; William “Ted” (Tina) Hallowell of Reynoldsville, PA; two granddaughters; Kacie A. (Mitchell) Farabaugh and Melissa L. Heffner; two grandsons; Ryan P. Siverling and Theodore T. Hallowell; nine great-grandchildren; Shelby, Maya, Ruby, Preston, Bentley, Jackson, Rowe, Milani, and Mannon; two brothers John and David Hallowell of DuBois, PA; and one sister; Barbara Averill of Stump Creek, PA. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by two sons; Thomas and Timothy Hallowell. Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 4 – 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, Reynoldsville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2018 beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor Leon Blose, also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Reynoldsville Cemetery.
